Movimento Tibete Livre - Brasil
representing in Brazil the British NGO Free Tibet Campaign
invites all human rights defenders to
Protest against the visit of Hu Jintao to Brazil
April 14th, from 16h to 18h, in front of
Consulate General of China in Rio de Janeiro
With the presence of Paulo Stekel, the General Coordinator of the Free Tibet Movement – Brazil, representing the British NGO Free Tibet Campaign
The peaceful protest in front of the place:
Consulate General of China
Rua Muniz Barreto, 715 - Botafogo - Rio de Janeiro - RJ, Brazil
Recommendations: The protest will be peaceful. The general coordination demands that all carry candles to be lit during the protest. The coordination is asking everyone who can take the Constitution of the Federative Republic of Brazil, to be read aloud Chapter I, entitled "Individual and Collective Rights and Duties," so that the Chinese government knows that in our country do not we are a dictatorship, but a country ruled by free men and under the watchful eye of his own people! Buddhists participating in the protest can go clad in their ceremonial clothing (Zen Tchuba, etc..), flags of Brazil and Tibet, banners and posters demanding freedom for Tibet and respect for human rights in that invaded country.
The key phrase of the order of the protest will be: "Hu Jintao, Tibet Will be free after the fall of the Chinese dictatorship!" In the phrase of order, said in Portuguese and English, the Buddhists who attend the event may chanting Tibetan mantras, as the main mantra of the Free Tibet, "om mani peme hung", the mantra of Avalokiteshvara (Chenrezig), the patron saint of Tibet.
In case of police interference: Coordination asks everyone to remain calm, peaceful, orderly, courtesy and claiming their constitutional rights to freedom of expression. Lawyers sympathetic to the Tibetan cause will be welcome here, to ensure that all individual and collective rights are safeguarded. We ask that lawyers are present to confirm us by email in advance for us to use your services in case of need.
Considerations on the visit of Hu Jin Tao to Brazil
In April, Chinese President Hu Jintao will hold a series of official trips by four American countries: USA, Brazil, Venezuela and Chile.
On days 14 and 15, Hu Jintao will arrive in Brasilia and will meet with President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, attending the meeting in BRIC countries (Brazil, Russia, India and China).
Hu Jintao's stay in these countries, including Brazil, marking the diplomatic rapprochement with the U.S., after weeks of disagreements institutional (Taiwan, the Dalai Lama and appreciation of the yuan) and also increased investment from one of the largest economies in Latin America. In 2008, the region received U.S. $ 50 billion economic application in China.
However, China is now the country that executes more people in the world, which, in most cases it occurs without the accused having the least right to constitutional protection embodied in the letters from all republics of the world, including countries UN, an organization to which China belongs.
China invaded Tibet in the 1950s and since then submits the Tibetan people to a very cruel dictatorship, with the deprivation of individual liberties, collective, cultural, religious and linguistic rights, something unacceptable in the XXI century.
Equally unacceptable is the Lula government to support a ruthless dictatorship such as China because of economic and political interests when China today is primarily responsible for the decrease of exports of Brazilian products, products genuinely “green-yellow” (symbolic expression for Brazilian things), because of the unfair competition from Chinese products, made on the basis of slave labor and wages less than a hundred dollars, something that in Brazil, at other times, would be cause for Civil War!
Purpose of Protest: To publicize to Hu Jintao and troop the indignation of the Brazilian people to the policy adopted by the Chinese government on the Tibetan issue, the status of the Dalai Lama, the Panchen Lama's abduction and the conduct of human rights in Tibet; to inform the Chinese government at the expense of the current (but not eternal!) Brazilian government, ideologically linked to China, the Brazilian people do not accept neither dictatorship nor a deprivation of human rights, especially when sponsored by the State! The time of Hitler, Mussolini, Salazar, Mao Tse-Tung, Idi Amin and Saddam is gone! The time of the Chinese dictatorship is about to end! The Chinese people themselves not last to be slain for so many decades!
IMPORTANT: The protest will be maintained even in rainy weather, technical difficulties, police intimidation or judicial decision, since the Constitution of the Federative Republic of Brazil is on our side!
